Yorick is my new fav solo laner and ive been playing him a ton so i figured id share my experience with you all

Masteries!

Being that i like to fill the tanky dps role once im built i run 1-21-8 masteries
i take Cripple as my only point into offensive since i always use exhaust and work my way down the defensive
tree appropriatly strength of spirit is something i always get as i rush a manamune and feel the regen is nice even if
rather small you can of course put points into nimbleness if you like that better

Runes!

Marks Flat AD
Quints Flat AD
Seals Scaling Mana Regen
Glyphs Scaling Mana Regen OR Flat CDR (either works merely your preference)

Skill order

E-W-E-Q-E-R-E-W-E-W-R-Q-W-W-Q-R-Q-Q

your E is your main skill, it doing decent dmg and insane healing and having the largest range
makes for great harassing early game and good for aweosome kill pickup cus people dont realize the range
it has
W is of course your next most important skill giving you that great continuous slow
using W with E directly after lets you effectivly get not only the cast dmg but at least 2-3 hits from
each goul
i max Q last because you dont often get to use it in the early parts of the game your main harass is
W-E and if you do the dmg is good enough that 1 point early on is sufficient

My Items! and why!

Mana Crystal + 2x HP pots
Tear + Move 1 boots + Ward ( you want to be solo lane or mid if possible)
Tear-> Manamune
Move 1 Boots -> Mercs or Move 3
Warmogs
Atma Or Banshee
Banshee or Atma (whichever you didnt get first)
For your final item i tailor it to my game as needed
these are what i prefer
GA, FM, FON, Sunfire, BT
as a rule i end up getting FM or GA but if you are raping faces a BT is a lot of fun
and if you are having trouble VS a high dmg team SF and FON tend to help keep you in fights
( ofc vs a super strong AD like a farmed late game Tryn or Yi THornmail may be in order)
Many people like to get a Trinity on Yorick but i found more often than not that it only slows down
Manamune Warmog Atma which i consider my core items and makes me too easy to take out early on also it only
really has a noticable benefit on your Q
its rare that i am able to take advantage of the sheen in early game unless im playing someone stupid
i do rather like the move speed bonus and it does for sure make your Q hit harder
this is something i leave up to you and your playstyle but i found it less beneficial than my current build
sometimes i will grab one for fun if im getting really fed and dont need a banshee but thats rare.

( you dont even really NEED the hp pots early on more often than not i never use them
becuase my E keeps me so healthy in lane however i have had times where popping that pot keeps me from dying
to an ignite or a jungle gank or an over aggresive 2v1 lane and lets me heal up at tower with my E faster to
avoid being td'd)

i feel that rushing a Manamune is key to yorick he is a mana HOG and he is quite spammy
so being able to continually spam your W-E harass makes you a huge annoyance in lane
doing this lets you zone your opponent out of exp range quite often and makes last hitting
with simple auto attacks easy so you can farm fast
a great thing about yorick is that your gouls auto target champs so they dont really push the lane
unless there is no champ in your field of view so you can very easily let the lane stay fairly even
which only adds to your zoning abilities in early lane phase
Your W-E combo is also great for escaping ganks and kiting many many times i will slow that jungler with W
and E him to get a nice hp boost and keep alive as he tries in vain to chase me

Warmog keeps you nice and tanky and gives your gouls nice HP as well as your Revnant
and between Atma and Mannamune you have 260ish dmg and a huge Hp pool

this build has worked beautifully for me
of course this is not the ONLY way to build yorick just how i have found to work best for my playstyle
i tried Visage and other commonly used items for him but this just overall works better i find

Summoner SKills!

I like to run Flash Exhuast on him so many times ppl get me low on life and think im done for
Exhaust E and im right back in your face healing up and killing you and suddenly YOU are about to die and im
at half hp

Exhaust Ignite works well too but flash is such a nessesity right now if you dont like exhaust
i suggest Flash Ignite

i prefer flash simply to help avoid ganks and to help chase and also ive prolly gotten about 10-12 Flash W-E first bloods
on people as they try to recall at thier tower after ive harassed them early into game
