Smart Choice.
Story..

As a direct descendant of Avarosa, one of three legendary sisters who each claimed dominion over the scattered tribes dwelling in the icy tundra known as Freljord, Ashe mirrors her ancestor's unparalleled mastery of the bow. Ashe has come to the Institute of War in service to the Institute's summoners, seeking enough influence and favor to finally bring peace to her realm - a realm that has endured civil strife since the Time of the Three Sisters. With enough victories under her belt, she hopes to have the means to finally claim the throne that had long eluded Avarosa.

Ashe is one of a few hearty souls from Freljord who can claim the title of Frost Archer. Along with her mastery of the bow, Ashe is renowned for her resourcefulness even in the most dire of environments. She has mastered the ability to channel the frigid climate of the tundra into her arrows, slowing her foes with but a single flick of her wrist. She can even deliver a vicious shot from hundreds of yards away that freezes even the strongest of foes in their tracks. As tenacious as she is beautiful, she has earned the respect of ally and foe alike on the Fields of Justice.

No, really. Put that apple on your head!
Summary..

This will be a guide for Ashe on Summoners Rift (5v5). When playing Ashe there are 4 main concepts to remember and follow.

1. Focus on farming (Last Hiting minions) at low levels
2. Map awareness
3. Team fight\side lane awareness (You have a global ult, with a low cooldown!)
4. Play safe

We must press on.
Abilities/Stats..

Focus (Passive) - While out of combat, Ashe's critical strike chance increases by 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15 / 18% every 3 seconds, removed after next attack.

Frost Shot(Toggle) - While active, each of Ashe's basic attacks slow her target's movement speed for 2 seconds.
  • Mana Cost: 8
  • Slow: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 %
Volley - Ashe fires 7 arrows in a cone dealing attack damage plus a flat amount to each target hit. Volley also applies current level of Frost Shot.
  • Mana Cost: 60
  • Range: 1,200
  • Extra Damage: 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80
  • Cooldown: 20 / 16 / 12 / 8 / 4 seconds
Hawkshot (Passive) - Each time Ashe kills a unit, she gains some extra gold.
  • Extra Gold: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5
Hawkshot (Active) - Ashe sends her Hawk Spirit on a scouting mission.
  • No mana cost
  • Range: 1,100 / 2,200 / 3,300 / 4,400 / 5,500
  • Cooldown: 56 seconds
Enchanted Crystal Arrow - Ashe fires a missile of ice in a straight line that will pass over all other units until it collides with an enemy Champion or leaves the map. If the arrow collides with an enemy Champion, it deals magic damage and stuns the Champion and all other enemies in a small area up to 3.5 seconds, based on how far the arrow has traveled.
  • Mana Cost: 150
  • Range: Global
  • Magic Damage: 250 / 425 / 600 (+1 per ability power)
  • Cooldown: 75 seconds

Health --- 359 (+79)
Mana --- 173 (+27)
Damage --- 46.3 (+2.85)
Attack Speed --- .658 (+3.34% or .022)
Movement Speed --- 300

Right between the eyes..
Summoner Spells\Masteries\Runes..

Flash - Flash is great on any squishy to get out of those sticky situtations, or to land those last fews hits during a chase. Some people like it, though I normally do not use it.
Ghost - Ghost is amazing with your boots of swiftness + Your slow. You will be able to chase down, or effectively run in any and every situation.
Clairvoyance - Paired up with Hawkshot, and a few wards you will have absolute map control for you and your team.
Ignite - Solid choice. Getting that little extra damage you need in there, or preventing an enemy champion from healing effectively (Warwick, fiddlesticks)
Cleanse - Another amazing summoner spell. Incase you make a mistake, and get smacked with a stun or some CC - this will allow you to get out of it and ghost out if necessary.
Teleport - If your the only pusher on your team, pick this up. It's also great for getting back to your lane after going back for items.

Start --> Boots of Speed + Three Health Potions
--> Finish Boots of Swiftness + X Health Potions
--> B. F. Sword + X Health Potions + X Wards (1-2 is solid)
--> Pickaxe and then Cloak of Agility, finish your Infinity Edge.
--> Last Whisper or Sterks Fervor
--> Bloodthirster or Madreds
--> Banshee's Viel
--> Black Cleaver or Phantom Dancer

That's a "General" item build, take note that this is NOT what you should be building everygame. Your build should change with your enemy team, as you are trying to exploit weaknesses.

General item build VS Caster team:
Swifts, Infinity Edge, Sterks Fervor, Banshee's Viel, Blood Thirster, Force of Nature or Quicksilver Sash

General item build VS Physical team:
Swifts, Infinity Edge, Sterks Fervor, Blood Thirster, Phantom Dancer, Guardian Angel

General item build VS Balanced team:
Swifts, Infinity Edge, Last Whisper, Banshee's Viel, Sterks Fervor, Guardian Angel

General item build VS Tank team:
Swifts, brutalizer, Madred's Bloodrazors, Last Whisper, Banshee's Viel or Guardian Angel, Blood Thirster

Freeze!
Tips, Tricks, Advice..

Solo mid - Focus on last hitting. Remember our passive makes this easy for us as we Crit more often. At the end of laning phase, you should have about 120+ minion kills (This can include nuetrals). Another thing to remember is if your being harassed to use your volley to counter-harass and farm on the minions. Also keep your hawkshot flying when you hear MIA's. Anytime your ECA (Ultimate) is up you should be looking at side lanes for possible hits.

Side Laning - Do NOT lane with someone who can last hit better than you (ie: Mord, Miss Fortune, Sivir) as you wont get the items you need fast enough. Remember to buy a ward for your side of the river, and to call MIA's whenever needed. Hawkshot can help setup a gank at one of their objective buffs, keep that in mind. Gank mid a fair amount of times, not only might you get a kill, you might grab a turret as well.

2v1 Lane - There are many champions more suited for this than ashe, so if there is a morgana, akali, mundo, etc on your team; Then have them 2v1 lane. If you end up stuck in a 2v1 lane remember the following: Play defensively, keep a ward up as their jungle will inevitably try to gank you.

Enchanted Crystal Arrow - This skill has a "splash" effect, with a low cooldown. We all know what that means! Paired with your clairvoyance and hawkshot you will be able to know when the enemy team is going for their objective buffs. During this time you should attempt to aim your ECA at the champion attempting to get the buff; If timed correctly you will hit the champion and the splash damage will kill the objective creep giving you some gold and a nice aura.

Contiuation of Enchanted Crystal Arrow - Running teleport is a semi smart idea if you plan on "Self-ganking", here's what you do. When you go back to buy items, shoot an ECA from your spawn at the lane of your choice. Teleport to a nearby Turret\Minion\Ward and initiate a fight. After you get ~2-4 attacks in, your ult will slam in their face from behind you, stunning them for 3.5seconds (plenty of time for you to /d and then kill them!)

Swiftly now!

Now go enjoy yourself, and don't ever forget that - My aim is steady.

wow i completly disagree with just about everything in this guide

looks cool and gj for putting such thought into it

few things i disagree with off the top of my head

1) ashe needs damage EARLY so picking up a quick brutalizer is usually a good idea
2) 21 in the offensive tree makes more sense than 21 in the utility especially with your item build
3) having mana regen runes are nice but getting a manamune is never a bad idea on ashe (an oom ashe is a pretty pointless one)
4) you shouldnt ALWAYS buy swifts on occasions mercs are a good choice
5) i like to start with meki cuz using volley is the best way to harass and last hit multiple minions and if you mid use the crit passive to your advantage

just some general problems with the build : D

e/ and i know a lot of ashe's like to do this but you should include the teleport enchanted arrow trick in your thing

With mana regen runes you dont need to waste $ for meki first.
Always get swifts, my opinion (If ashe gets stunned or focused, shes dead anyway, nn reduction)
Manamune? LOL i completely disagree.
Masteries - I like the utility tree > offesive tree - opinion again
I USED to rush brutalizer, though I only do that now against tank teams since i have so much armor reduction to start with (i said this in the guide)

/that teleport thing is at the end,

gotta read the whole thing :D

/e2 rutalizer wasnt in there, i thought i had it in there though so you were right - ty for reminder :)

nn read the whole thing
nn 2 things of mana regen runes i only use mana regen seals and cd reduction glyphs
so manamune is better with armor pen marks and hp quints
and gives good early damage

it's just what i personally use, austin's build more than likely works just fine although i do 100% disagree with his swiftness boots > merc treads in certain games

masteries i tend to run 21-9-0 just for nimbleness, it can be useful
