--- Ezreal, The Prodigal Explorer ---
History: Ezreal was born with the gift of magic flowing through his veins. Ezreal, however, was also born with a much stronger sense of wanderlust. Put into school to become a skilled techmaturgist, Ezreal quickly became bored with magical studies. By the time the boy genius was eight years old, he had fully mapped out the underground tunnels of Piltover. The quality of his work was so great that the government of Piltover purchased his maps and salaried his services as Piltover's Grandmaster Explorer. This sealed the deal on Ezreal's path in life - he would eschew the arcane arts in favor of archaeology. Since then, countless of Ezreal's adventures have been written about as romanticized stories.
One of Ezreal's latest adventures, however, has brought him face-to-face with his other legacy - his latent magical power. While exploring the pyramids of Shurima Desert, Ezreal uncovered an Amulet of incredible power. Aside from the sheer size of the amulet (it was made for a being easily twice Ezreal's size), it allows the wielder to control and shape magical energy - provided a source of magic is in the vicinity. This allowed Ezreal to tap into his natural talent for magic without having to put any serious effort into it - a big win for the Prodigal Explorer. The drawback is that for some unknown reason, the amulet is attuned with summoning magic. Without warning, Ezreal may find himself acting as a champion for, as he puts it, ''a summoner hell-bent on resolving some irrelevant world-shattering League conflict.'' Still, Ezreal feels being summoned into a Field of Justice on occasion is a small price to pay.
''There's little time to study musty tomes when you're busy crawling around where the musty tomes originally came from.'' Such is Ezreal's credo.

Items Suggestion and Explanation:Here you can either choose to play with stacks or without stacks. The Stacks is Mejai's and Occult, you will still stack Bloodthirster on both builds though,
but you still got good adds even if its unstacked and also its way easier to stack up.
On every point/number in this item guide you will either see a
+ or a
/ between the items. The + means you should get all items on that point/number.
While a / means you should choose on your own one of the items on that point/number.
Every section/number below is showing in what order you should get the items, but not the exact order.
For example on point number 2, "2 Chalice of Harmony + Boots of Mobility", you could get Boots before Chalice
or you could get Chalice before Boots. Or you can get them both at the same time, buy Meki Pendant
and Boots of Speed and then later complete the items for example. So its not an exact view
of what order you should buy the items. Its more like a hint when to approximately buy each item.
Example, start out with point 1, then you buy the items on point 2 but in the order that fits you,
then when you are done with point 2, continue with point 3, and so on.
The bolded item is my own choice at the last item pick, you do not necessary have to pick the same item.
And remember this is my build(s) of Ezreal combo ap and ad.
You can always do your own build, or mix your own build with mine.
Item Build With Stacks:1 Dorans Blade + 1 Health Potion
2 Chalice of Harmony + Boots of Mobility
3 Sheen + Mejai's Soulstealer + Sword of Occult + Vampiric Scepter

Hextech Gunblade/Gunisoo's Rageblade/Banshee's Veil/Phantom Dancer/Infinity Edge/Nashor's Tooth/Last Whisper/The Black Cleaver/Warmog's Armor
Here is the result of this Build, With Stacks. This is counted when you full stacks on Mejai's and Occult and Bloodthirster.
Max speed from Mobilty Boots and that you are level 18, and also

Discussion and Comparing Both Builds:Now we have our two builds completed. And both builds are very strong and both work properly.
Mostly it does depend on yourself and how you play, which build you should pick.
Benefits with the Stack Build:- More Attack Damage
- More Ability Power
- More Movement Speed
Benefits with the Non-stack Build:- Way More Attack Speed
- More Cooldown Reduction
- Safe Build and Safer Playstile
If you are an aggressive player, with an offensive play style, who like to gank often
and early in the game, who want much damage, and high movement speed, but still
are a very experienced Ezreal player and that do not die a lot, then this Stack Build
could fit for you and your play style.
If you not are an aggressive player, or if you still are an aggressive player but no so
experienced, and want good damage, nice attack speed, and still be able to afford
to die sometimes, then this Non-stack Build could fit for you and your play style.
Personal Opinion: I like both play styles very much, for me the choice depending
on the team I play with, and the team I fight versus, and how to game turn out
in the beginning. If I get some kills are our team push well on their lanes and I
havent died anything, I mostly go for the Stack-Build, in other cases not.
And sometimes I just pick what I feel for! :]
Summoner Spells:About the Summoner Spells on Ezreal, of couse depends on if you are AP or AD, or combo
And on your play style and who you play with and which enemies you meet.
And remember, this is what I think about the spells, and how they suit
with this build of Ezreal, you can always have your own opinion, this
is just a few tips! ;]
Good and Recommended Spells:- Exhaust - Very good spell for Ezreal, slows down you target so he is easier to hunt down and kill, also make its easier for you to hit him with your skill shots.
- Ghost - Also a very good spell for Ezreal, perfect for hunting or fleeing, and with your already good movement speed, ghost will take you to insane levels of speed.
- Heal - Also a nice spell, could save you from a death, and can also be used to trick you enemy and heal in the last second to kill them instead of being killed yourself. Could also save a team mate : )
- Cleanse - Very good spell, specielly if you wanna play safe and/or playing the Stack Build, this spell could save your life very many times.
- Ignite - Very nice damage spell, could give you some kills when "Oh no they run away with 100-200 hp", ignite, *BAM* dead. Specially nice if you are playing offensive style.
Working Spells:- Teleport - Not a bad spell at all, if you are lazy running to your lane, or if you gonna save a tower from a massive creep wave, or if you dont wanna miss a single exp in your lane, this is a nice spell.
- Fortify - Also a pretty nice spell, could save you a tower in some situations. Could also be trick used against your enemies, if your enemy trying to greed kill you close to tower or something similar, you can activate fortify and then the tower get a very fast attack speed and some splash damage! Could make so your killer dont run away alive after killing you, or could even sometimes save you from being killed and kill the play that attacked you!
- Clarity - This spell I personally do not like at all, you should never need this spell except a few minutes in early game. With your masteries, and contingent mana-runes, and your Chalice of Harmony and Sheen you wont need this at all, never ever. The only reasons why I've put this in Working Spells and not in Bad Spells is because I can accept this if you are a very low leveled Summoner and dont get so much mana from runes/masteries, and because it gives a bit mana to you teammates aswell. (But remember you are not a support hero, you are a dps carry hero).
- Clairvoyance - A pretty nice support spell, but you are not support as already said, but this spell is nice anyway for Ezreal, could get you some kills combined with your ultimate, and predict some ganks. Also an okay spell to pick, could be an option.
Bad Spells:- Revive - Very very bad spell, please never take this spell if you are not insane bad at this game or if your intention is to feed your enemy team.
- Smite - Also a very bad spell, this spell you never need on Ezreal, even if he isnt the very best creeper in early game. He, like any other carry, can farm nice in mid-end game with no problem.
- Rally - Even if this spell could be nice early game, and actually give more hp than heal, I do not think it is so good in the long run, sorry.
- Flash - Sorry guys! Normally I would have put this spell on Good Spells or Working Spells. But since I personally dont like it and you already have a flash on Ezreal, I put it here.
2 Flashes, this one and your own ability Arcane shift is not bad! But its so much, and I mean SO MUCH better to have your own flash and Ghost then instead, always pick Ghost instead of flash on Ezreal.
My Own Choice of Summoner Spells and Why? Also My Own Recommendation:I always choose 4 of following spells on Ezreal: Exhaust, Ghost, Ignite, Cleanse.
If I play with a mate, and he has exhaust for example I maybe take ignite instead if we going same lane.
It also depends on what other spells the other people in the team has picked, for team fights later and so on.
And if I play Stack Build or Non-stack build :]
Anyway my 2 most used spells would be: Exhaust and Ghost.
And if you wanna play safe and not die I do recommend the spells: Cleanse, Heal, Ghost, easily best spells for survival.
If you wanna play aggressive, the spells I recommend would then be: Exhaust and Ignite, very good offensive spells.
If you wanna have some combination between both I recommend: Exhaust + Ghost/Cleanse or Ignite + Ghost/Cleanse.
Masteries:
I use
26-0-4 masteries, and it has been working fine.
Offensive Masteries:- Deadliness = 2% extra crit is kinda nice.
- Cripple = Always pick this one if you use exhaust.
- Archmage's Savvy = Since you are combination of AP and AD this one is nice.
- Sorcery = Nice with a bit less cooldowns, but this one is mostly because of Archaic Knowledge.
- Alacrity = More attack speed is very nice.
- Archaic Knowledge = Your magical spells penetrate 15% of targets magic armor, this one is very nice.
- Sunder = This one is okay, pierce your enemies normal armor.
- Brute Force = 3 more ad, not the best one, but its okay.
- Lethality = Very nice, specially if you build a hardcore crit gear.
- Havoc = Very very nice, specielly since you are both magic and normal damage.
Ultily Masteries: - Perseverance = A really nice mastery for ALL heroes.
- Haste = Very good if you have chosen Ghost as a summoner spell!
Probably other masteries would work aswell, if you wanna play very defensive
you could have 0/21/9, or if you want a combination which is mainly defensive you could have 8/17/5.
And a combination of all 3 could be, 11-9-10. Well the choices are many, and once
again it depends on how you play and which summoner spells you pick and
which build you will use.
Runes:
My Runes and Why:I actually do not have any special runes just for Ezreal. I have one Rune Page
made for dps/carrys heroes in general, and that is the Rune Page I use on him.
Even if its not specifically made for Ezreal, I still think it works really great.
I get nice attack speed even from start because of this runes, because I have both
the red (Mark) runes and the big (Quintessence) runes that give me attack speed.
And endgame I have a really high attack speed specially when you have your passive spell
active in battle. And its even more crazy when you choose the Non-stack Build where you
have more AS, and then you also have Gunisoo's Rageblade which provide even more AS.
And then I have some yellow (Seal) rune, life runes, and I like them a lot since they provide hell
of a great life boost. And some people maybe like flat hp better than getting hp per/level.
But since you already at level 5 get as much with the per/level hp runes they are way
better to pick in my opinion. And at level 18 you almost got 4 times as much with
hp per/level runes than flat hp runes, so they are a very nice choice. Also they have
the half IP (Influence Points) cost! :] So they are way better in the long run!
Even when it is the Quintessence which has a pretty good flat hp, I still recommend the
hp per/level runes. Around at level 12 you have same hp with the hp per/level runes as
you have with flat hp runes. And also the game itself is almost always longer between
level 12-18 than level 1-11 since you level so fast early game! And as already stated,
better to earn on it in the long run then just in the beginning ;]
And then to my last blue (Glyph) runes, provides me a lot of mana regen which is really
nice for Ezreal, with this mana regen and Chalice of Harmony you will almost never be
out of mana. And if you come to endgame where you have sold chalice of harmony
you already have so much basic mana and mana from items, and basic mana regen
and mana regen from items, that with this and your mana regen runes you will
EASILY have enough mana and mana regen. This is also a reason why you never ever
want to pick Clarity!
How To Play:When I play Ezreal I often like to play mid lane. But he works great on the side lanes aswell.
Here you of course start out with your first spell, even if you are mid lane or side lane.
The spell you should harass with is of course your first spell, since it has so good damage
and low cd, and cost not much mana at all. Do not use your second spell Essence Flux until its around lvl 2-3
since your first spell will always do more damage. Only use Essence Flux if you have very much/full mana bar
all the time, otherwise just stick to your first spell. Your third spell you could use for harass aswell, but
I stick to mainly use my first and sometimes my second, and I use my third spell for hunting/escaping.
How to Avoid Ganks:If you play at mid lane, I have 5 tips to get rid of ganks on you in early game.
Of course these tips work on other lanes aswell except mid lane.
- - First you should tell your team mates to always say miss on their lanes. (And of course remember to do so yourself aswell)
- - And second, you should check the mini map frequently and see where enemy heroes is.
- - And third, if you suspect that one or many enemy heroes may be in the bush and luring
and waiting for you to step forward so they can charge in and kill you! If you suspect that
you can always use your first spell Mystic Shot in the bushes too see if someone is there. - - Fourth, wards! If you have great feed (creep feed or champion feed or both) you can
always spend some extra money to put out on some wards around your lane, good thing to do! - - And last, fifth! If you play Ezreal with Clairvoyance you could always use this spell to check
bushes/other places near your lane where you enemy could wait for killing you.
How To Survive Later in Mid-Late Game:Remember that you are a squishy who is supposed to MAKE damage, and not RECEIVE damage.
Making damage is your job, and taking damage is the tanks job. But since the weak ones who
make a lot of damage often becomes the the targets by enemy ganks it is important to have some
escape and survive mechanism. And when you play as Ezreal you already have one, at you hero,
that is Arcane Shift, a quick teleport, like the Summoner Spell Flash! So use it carefully with concern
when attacking, so you also can use it if you need to escape. Except that you should have at least one
or maybe even 2 summoner spells that you can escape with. Ghost for example can you both flee
and hunt with, and if you get stunned/slowed you could have Cleanse! With all this you should be able
to survive, and you can always use ingame items aswell, Banshee's Veil, or some other hp item or
life steal items so your enemies cant kill you so easy.
Skill Order:You should ALWAYS pick Mystic Shot first, even if you are AP or AD or combo of both.
Its very good for early harassment, and good for last hitting creeps and get your cooldowns off.
This spell should you always skill first because its very very good. And if you use it very much
you could reduce the cooldown of your Ultimate pretty nice. And also its extra good at the moment
since Ezreal is a bit over powered with AD/AS atm and a bit under powered with AP in my opinion.
You should also take one point in Arcane Shift pretty early for escaping/hunting and some small harassment.
And after your first spell Mystic Shot is maxed up, you should max his second spell, Essence Flux.
And after that Arcane Shift and Trueshot Barrage whenever you are able to. (which means on lvl 6,11,16).
So your skill order should look something like below:- Lvl 1 - Mystic Shot
- Lvl 2 - Essence Flux or Arcane Shift
- Lvl 3 - Mystic Shot
- Lvl 4 - The one you didn't take on Lvl 2
- Lvl 5 - Mystic Shot
- Lvl 6 - Trueshot Barrage
- Lvl 7 - Mystic Shot
- Lvl 8 - Essence Flux
- Lvl 9 - Mystic Shot,
You now have one of your most important skills maxed, from this point take
Essence Flux and Trueshot Barrage when you can and then Arcane Shift.
My Own Results and Achievements About
The Guide and About Playing as Ezreal:Now when we are coming to the end of this guide I could show you a few examples when I've played Ezreal as AD/AP Combo.
I havent played this combo super much and I do not take prints every game, so I just have 2 prints but here you go:
With Stacks =
http://img580.imageshack.us/f/ezrealapadcombo21418.jpg/Without Stacks =
http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/7076/adapezreal7012.jpgIn the on without stacks I dont have exactly the same gear as in the guide, but its almost the same.
Also as I said earlier I really recommend Hextech Gunblade now since its buff in the latest patch.
And overall I think it is very funny to play a combo of Ezreal, its feels very unique. He just
needs some buffs with his AP skills and some nerf on his AD, to be perfectly balanced.
To Everyone Who Read My Guide:To all who has read my guide I wanna say thanks a lot! I really would appreciate some feedback
from other Ezreal players and those who has tried out my build. If you have any comments
or questions, please ask me here or pm me, but leave the flame please! =)
