hi
A wild zelphar appears!

personally i don't think anybody is a 10 because 10 = perfect and even pros make mistakes. you may have a sick br but unless you can 4 shot EVERY time then you can always improve (ofcourse lag can make this difficult).
9 = best of the best. a FEW of the pros may be 9s. in my opinion, most of the pros/semi pros aren't all that good invidivually, they just have sick teamwork. i'd probably put strongside at a 9.
8 = damn good. if you are an 8 then you are better than about 98% of the people that play this game. an 8 could go into high-ranked mlg or customs with good kids and carry teams. if you have an 8 on your team, you give him/her the power weapon and sit back and watch the destruction. there may be a couple of people on these forums that approach an 8.
7 = very good. a 7 hold his own with just about anyone. while he/she may not necessarily carry teams, they won't ever be "that guy" who single-handedly loses games. a team of 4 7's with good teamwork make up a majority of pro/semi-pro teams in my opinion.
6 = good. a 6 will appear as a god to somebody who just picked up this game or is a legit captain, but beyond that they will just be part of the mundane plethora of halo players who play this game enough to know what's going on but lack the drive/hand-eye coordination to reach the next level. these kids primarily make up the (mid to high 40s matchmaking noobs) category.
5 = competent. your average halo player. they may have a game where they go plus 12 but it will quickly be forgotten after they go -12 the next game. while this player has the ability to beast it up with the rocket and sword (which happen to be their 2 top weapons of choice), you will have to go out of your way for him/her to kill you with a sniper or br.
4 = kinda bad. now we approach the often unnoticed part of the halo community. these are the people who have lives outside of video games. they don't give a fuck if you grab sniper at the beginning of the game because they have their eyes set on the turret. don't bother trying to do strats with these people, as their idea of strategy is running straight ahead, trigger down on their a.r. most of your "sweet montages" will consist of no-scopes and 4-shots on these type of people.
3 = bad. these people rely soley on the a.r. and sword. if given the choice of a battle rifle or a brute spiker, they will choose the latter as it "looks cooler". a 3 completely fails to understand the concept of an objective, for their top priority is charging the person that they saw spawn 600 feet away with their sweet brute spiker. thankfully, you don't have to worry about a 3 grabbing sniper, for they even know that they would suck with it.
2 = horrible. there are few people in existance that would be dubbed a 2 if they even casually play this game. for the few avid halo gamers would do fall into the 2 category, they are either:
blind
tripping shrooms
missing an arm
a dog
someone playing on a samsung dlp projector
a fucking tree stump is more deadly than a 2. a pixelated representation of zeus dressed as a dinoasaur and coming down from the heavens to smite your masterchief with lightning bolts made of aunt jemima's syrup is more likely than a 2 killing you. to give you an idea of just how bad a 2 is, i laid my controller down to go piss and i came back and actually killed a 2 while i was away.
1 = zelphar. few people have ever seen a zelphar before, so not much is known about them. what little we do know is that a zelphar can single-handedly cause both teams to lose by merely being online. the crazy part? he/she doesn't even have to be in the game.
to combat this, bungie has attempted to put all of the zelphars into their own segment of matchmaking. this way, the zelphars are allowed to play eachother, although to this day neither team has ever recorded a victory.
but ya...i'm probably about a 2.5.
