That's up to you.
If we was to follow the Bible specifically on the issues of tattoo (it mentions something about don't make modifications to your body, it's the temple and such), we'd all be in sin. Overweight, underweight, tanned skin, burnt skin, etc.
Besides, here's what I know, and it's what I follow (regardless if you're some devoted "Christian" or not): do not judge anyone - don't focus on the EXTERNALS of a individual, focus on the INTERNALS where it actually counts. If you're some devoted "Christian" acting high and holy, but your heart isn't in the right place by judging others for example a tattoo, you have a problem.
I wouldn't focus on what the public opinion says about tattoos, I'd get one if it's going to mean a whole great deal to you.
