ok i want to learn this. i am going to be a math teacher next year, so to practice my programming i want to start writing programs that i can use to explain algebra/geometry concepts...
i have never coded before only edited scripts on d2...never made anything from scratch

anyone got sources?

please help i want to be rich xD

example would be:

i have the fraction 4v^3/v^3

I want a program that will allow me to express it as (4 * v * v * v )/(v*v*v*)
then show the cancellations of the v's to get the final answer 4.

white boards are boring, messy, slow, ineffective, etc.

You're just looking for a fancy calculator... when you're teaching you are trying to show students how to achieve the answer not what the answer is... For example... you just can cancel out like equations and find your answer, you don't even need a calculator for that...

I just hope you don't grad from w/e teaching academy you are attending, or take up PE. Everyone knows that teachers who can't teach, teach PE.

Anyways you won't find a programming language that does this unless you find a library for a scripting language where someone has built such a thing, which I doubt anyone has.

I still wouldn't use it for any classes though. You will wind up confusing the students with programming babble rather than ever teaching them proper logic to solve equations. It's just a bad idea unless you are teaching them higher mathematics along side programming.

my brother wanted to teach gym for that reason. he gave up on the idea when he realized he needed to go to college to do it. He's got a point. it doesnt make sense that you have to go to 4+ years of college to teach 3rd grade gym.
