Okay, so I have common sense when it comes to computers, but I'm far from a pro. I'm getting sick of asking people for advice and they tell me to do shit I've done weeks ago.

Essentially, my mom gave me her laptop (acer mini book thing) because she was having issues with her email (yahoo mail) Come to find out... her flash is not working. I tried multiple different websites, and anything displayed with flash isn't displaying

I tried downloading the installer, and it boots up and just stops completely. No error message. IIRC even checking the task manager nothing displays... it's like it fails whilst trying to launch. I tried downloading old versions of flash and even they have the same issue with the installation.

Anyone have any advice? I'm at the point I'm about to do a reformat just so my mom can use her fucking "new and improved yahoo mail," which I don't want to do as she's got way too much crap she wants to save.

Adobe provides a downloadable application to remove stubborn old versions of flash. I've never tried it, and I have no idea if it will help or not, but hey, worth a shot (imo). Oh and I'm not allowed to post links or URL's on d2jsp because I'm a very bad person. So go to google and paste this in the search engine:

include the " marks. First listing should be a page from Adobe's site with instructions for the application and a link to download it.
