remember the shorcuts in windows let you assign a key combo for them which will run your shortcut? you push a letter on the keyboard and it automatically adds Ctrl + Alt + in front of it, or you can change them to Ctrl + Shift + Alt + or whatever else.

my question is how to use Alt + Shift + F as a shortcut combo without causing the "Open File Location" to run the folder and make my combo disappear before i get to apply it. for one, i know that a solution would be to change the system language, so the "File Location" gets a different Alt key, but it's funny to imagine that would be the only way!

the only other way i can think of would involve a violation of the rules:

well i'm talking about intercepting the shortcut key stroke, but this would be much more complicated than your first suggestion

i managed to come up with a more simple option thinking about my first suggested method - just changed the keyboard language and it worked! the keystroke that the box took as input was the pressed key with the original latin letter on it. thanks for the help. problem solved :locked:

 having a problem again
i put hidden shortcuts on my desktop, about 6-7 and assigned them Shift + Alt shortcut keys... they worked perfectly until the restart/sleep — they do not work at all. i checked that their keys are still assigned. i switched one shortcut to its Ctrl + Alt counterpart and it worked but when i switched it back to the Shift + Alt combo it does not even bring up the app which is running in the background.
help? (this is getting tiring, windows is making fools out of us)
