while making some valid points the article is overall too much focused on security and authority imo

Trust is earned, not given.

That and the idea that most of those guys are isolated 20 and 30 somethings who use technology as a crutch to fill the void left by their community-less lives. After evaluating both of those, this forum came into mind for sure.
