How progressive of them.

Quote
California schoolchildren lined up Saturday to trade in their guns - the toy kind, made out of plastic. In exchange for the colorful toy firearms, Strobridge Elementary School students received books and a chance to win a new bike. Strobridge’s principal said the school held the exchange because he thinks playing with toy guns increases the chance of children using real ones when they grow up.

Absolutely disgusting. I feel sorry for the poor citizens of Southern California, hopefully they're able to secede soon.

if teaching children that there are things more valuable than guns is the result than it is a good educational exercise, nothing to do with progressive

there might be some loss of respect for guns for any one who plays with toy guns but is never properly trained to use real firearms. i don't imagine many of these kids are going to get their hunting license any time soon, so its not necessarily something thats anti guns, but more so something to prevent the prevelence of adults who show little respect for guns.

How is demonizing firearms and hundreds of millions of lawful American gun owners with the sole intent to brainwash kids and prevent them from owning firearms as adults, not disgusting?

there was nothing in the news story about demonising guns - you must have grabbed that out of thin air
or do you have other information to back this claim up?

There's nothing wrong with exercising a constitutionally protected right, and trying to actively discourage students from taking advantage of their rights is, in my eyes, pretty abhorrent.
