The Office of Management and Budget’s annual report to Congress on the benefits and costs of all major rules adopted by most federal agencies over the past 10 years shows how efficiently, or inefficiently, those agencies are functioning.

And the conclusion is clear: the Environmental Protection Agency comes out on top.

Every $1 invested in the EPA results in $10 in benefits.

Now we just need a good anti-immigration policy with some right-wing environmentalists and there is a whole new world of voters available to the GOP.

More immigrants = more pollution!

Most Americans don't seem to realize that every dollar in health costs saved by the EPA is a dollar saved by the working class instead of the CEO's raking in billions because of the health care costs they are causing and not paying for...

not to mention the millions of lives saved....

These environmental changes contribute more than just income. They contribute to the reduction of the rate of biodiversity loss. If you are interested in that maybe look into the " Biodiversity Outlook 3 " which consists of the United Nations 2010 goals of environmental actions in order to help protection of biodiversity, and how none of the goals were met by any nation. If you YouTube what I have underline you'll find a really nice 10 min film on it.

I agree with you here. Plus as others have said, it can help reduce medical costs; i.e. less toxins in the environment.
