Keep in mind, this is STRICTLY monetary. This doesn't include a monetary factor for utility or self-fulfillment.

I'm of the opinion that they should severely restrict student loans. I believe that there is a lot of truth to easy debt being a substantial factor in exploding tuition costs. In my opinion, there's no reason to rack up debt that you won't be able to pay off. Instead, I believe colleges should focus on WORK STUDY. If you want to do a major with very little financial reward because you actually enjoy it, then that's great. However, you should have to work for it so you aren't drowning in debt for the next decade.

Wow, I had no idea you went to SLO

SLO is a great investment and I believe that it is one of the more underrated universities.

I also agree on work-study, and feel it should be more available to people who don't...*ahem*...qualify for student aid. Because, you know, some of us have two employed parents. And live in California, where wages are high but the cost of living is also high, so we get a disproportionately low amount of student aid.

What, me, bitter? No, couldn't be.

At least SLO is subsidized by the tax payer. I'm going to UCLA in the fall for graduate school and I have to pay full tuition for the first quarter because I don't have a fellowship and they looked at my tax return and laughed. I believe the money is there to get a free education, you just have to work hard to find it.

They really do need to regulate this shit.... especially medical schools... my school costs 88,00$ a year.... and it's four years.
