I'm just wondering...

What makes you believe in god?

Just looking for some stimulating debate here.

I'm not a Christian. I think the reason Christians specifically believe in God is that they believe in the accuracy of the New Testament.

However, there are far more reasons that theists in general believe in God.

I think Christians' beliefs are more spiritually related.

@op There are plenty of other threads discussing this.

Well, spiritually in regards to the New Testament.

If they don't believe in the accuracy of the New Testament (Christ's death and resurrection), they are not a Christian.

Well technically you're a few hours shy of 2 days but that's ok.

Yes indeed.

Also the personal relationship & encounter with Jesus Christ.

For many it just may be the only world-view introduced. Then its just a question of 'why not?' practice it, after all it generally seems to make them and their similars happy, make them accepted by society, and make them more positive about death.

Its tailored to perpetuate itself by appealing to our psyche and behaviors, otherwise it would have died out like countless other religion.
