A simple suggestion that would make the locking of topics less frustrating to us users:

What I would like to see is a short motivation by the mod before a topic is locked.

Isn't that 'common sence' when modding a forum? Why is jsp an exception? I can of course see why it's not needed in every case but I almost never see a motivation to why something got locked. Why is that? What it leads to is the urge to continue the discussion in a new topic.

Dont think the mods really go through the thread to see if there's reason to lock it, guessing most don't frequent pard anyway so when someone reports they just lock it and go back to donor forum, or ls.

If that's true, then no wonder there are so few people here... <_<

well pard use to be for the most part self regulated by the community here rather than the moderators and for the most part (views aside) was probablly the most mature group on jsp. I had stayed away from here for a few months when things started to take a one sided approach on most things so I'm unsure exactly what happened in the interm but it does seem the mods are a little lock happy these days.

The mod who usually handles PaRD is away . When he returns the problem will be resolved .

Allright, hope so, I haven't been here long. This is something I've seen in other sub-forums too, that's why I reacted. Don't matter as much there, but if there is an on-going debate in a topic with a valid subject & introduction it's not ok to lock without motivation, in my opinion.
