Shes a 30 year old woman with no kids, she punished herself
LOL!

I suppose part of that depends on a tox screen. But involuntary manslaughter is not an unreasonable charge, here (based on what we currently know).
A tox screen won't prove she was intoxicated at work, just that she did a drug within the testable time.

I'm in favor of rehabilitation rather than punishment. Community service the answer here.
Her sentence should be to do 20 bbc porn shoots, with her portion of the proceeds going towards a scholarship fund for black kids. The fund would be named for the victim and the recipients would be selected by the victim's family.
This will change her attitude towards black males very quickly. The turnaround will allow her to get back on the job relatively quickly, minimizing the financial loss to the Dallas PD.
Everybody wins here. The public gets something good to satisfy them. The state saves money not having to hold another person in jail. She gets freedom relatively quickly.
