On Brexit, both leaders are struggling to impress, but May again comes out ahead. Some 32% approve of the way the prime minister is handling Brexit against 44% who disapprove. Just 19% approve of Corbyn’s performance on Brexit compared with 48% who disapprove.

Strikingly, May appears to be impressing far more leave voters than Corbyn is enthusing remainers – 40% of leavers back May over Brexit, while only 26% of remainers think Corbyn is doing well on the issue.

The polling suggests opinion is shifting in favour of the UK staying in the single market, a position strongly opposed by most Tories.

When will there be a credible alternative to a hard brexit?

I do not think that the ministerial team will make such a decision, although Ms. May is brave. Such thing can destroy personal political career...

It is your parliament that will make the final decision because here those who take the decision benefit from a relative "anonymity", and then they would probably cancel it.

It would be suicide for May to go for a soft brexit, but I'm holding out hope that the opposition have the nerve to stick to their principles.

Soft or hard, doesnt matter, your parliament will cancel it, so no one will be -directly/personally- responsible of this farce.

So despite the fact that the catalan separatist parties had agreed to not have arrested members of the former government in the new government, the new president Quim Torra has nominated several exiled and imprisoned members to form part of his goverment. This impedes a new government from forming (as even the catalan law requires the nominees to perform an oath in the catalan presidential palace) and bringing an end to the enforcement of article 155 (as the condition was a new government to be formed).

Sadly, it's very obvious that the leading separatists don't care about article 155 being enforced or not being able to legislate to better the lives of the citizens of Catalonia. As long as they can cry about intervention from the national government, they're happy with the current status and the enforcement of article 155. They just want to delay the neverending story, because as long as the separatist process is at the heart of the social debate, the catalan society will remain polarized and separatist activists will keep campaigning.

Quim Torra tweets;

"The Spaniards only know how to plunder."
"Obviously, we live occupied by the Spaniards since 1714."
"French and Spanish share the same annihilating conception of the nations that live in their States".
"Out of jokes, gentlemen, if we continue here for a few more years, we run the risk of ending up as crazy as the Spaniards themselves".
"We go in private cars and we pay everything, we do not do like the Spaniards."
"Spaniards in Catalonia are like energy: they do not disappear, they transform".
"Embarrassment is a word that Spaniards have removed from their vocabulary years ago."
"Above all, what is surprising is the tone, the bad manners, the Spanish pork-making, the sense of filth.
"Hearing Albert Rivera speak of morality is like hearing Spaniards talk about democracy."
"[The PSC], poor, speak Spanish like the Spanish."

true, he seems to be a populist idiot, catalonia's trump - that does, however, not justify political arrests (especially considering they happened before he became president)...
