I mean, I don't really have a comment for this since you literally finished my point for me. The Arabic nations were historically far more accepting of other religions, including the Jews, than Western nations have been. In the grand scheme of things, the Arabs have been tolerant for hundreds and hundreds of years, only becoming intolerant for the minority of their existence.

And I wasn't even considering Jesus when I was thinking about Roman persecution, although in hindsight that should've been the obvious go-to.
