Have you been on campus during a school shooting? Do you know how that would affect someone? Knowing there's a gunman loose in the vicinity killing people wouldn't affect you at all?

Honestly man. I was just skimming this thread before getting some sleep after a long fucking night writing an essay and I wasn't intending to post anything. Then I saw this barrage of idiocy and hatefulness and I couldn't help but say something. Any decent person would. If you actually believe what you've written here then you need to sit and have a long think about the kind of person you are mate. 'Cos it ain't a good one.

I have my misgivings about the trump cult when I see their nutters go off on conspiracy theories about crisis actors and false flags, but they could never been as corrosive to society and political discourse as the weaponized vicarious victimization and ill wrought moral bludgeons on the left. My reaction to David Hogg being plastered on TV screens was to bother to look up the actual facts of how he was involved, or the lack thereof, and what victims families had to say. Not believing in fruitcake theories, and definitely not to buy into some faux moral outrage where anyone who criticizes the twirp must be lynched in the city square for daring to touch his inviolate, immaculate teenage self. And the truth was pretty mundane: Soyboy political activist and attention seeking aspiring student journalist who was neither directly impacted or actually in the building of the shootings, and his first reaction was to politicize it of his own prerogative- and make sure to bike back when he was sent home to get even more footage. He proudly thumps his gun control mantra from atop the bodies of the dead where he's untouchable, demanding the media swarm on anyone who dares challenge him. As far as his political ideology, he's just one in a long line of twirps his age, who cares. His only claim to fame is ruthlessly politicizing the deaths. Its an old tired act, something I've seen before. Reminded me of Paul Wellstone's memorial service. If society as a whole could have just stood up and turned their backs and wait for him to exeunt stage left, that woulda been dandy. But the media insisted on making him a punchable posterboy.
