since all the 'russian bots' that support drumpf have suddenly turned into 'white nationalist nazis' (a side note, going from calling supporters of the President lefty commies from russia to national socialist wannabes is funny considering those forces are both derivatives of marxist socialism, yet faced off against each other in WWII, but thats for another day), maybe there should be a 'reich-gate' thread. hopefully the op is okay as his daily toiling away in here has stopped

in any event here is an update

Special counsel's Russia probe loses top FBI investigator

One of the FBI's top investigators, tapped by special counsel Robert Mueller just weeks ago to help lead the probe of Russian meddling in last year's presidential election, has left Mueller’s team, sources tell ABC News.

The recent departure of FBI veteran Peter Strzok is the first known hitch in a secretive probe that by all public accounts is charging full-steam ahead. Just last week, news surfaced that Mueller's team had executed a search warrant at the Virginia home of Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort. And the week before that ABC News confirmed Mueller is now using a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., to collect documents and other evidence.

What to know about Mueller's use of a grand jury in the Russia probe
It's unclear why Strzok stepped away from Mueller's team of nearly two dozen lawyers, investigators and administrative staff. Strzok, who has spent much of his law enforcement career working counterintelligence cases and has been unanimously praised by government officials who spoke with ABC News, is now working for the FBI's human resources division.

Mueller 1 - Trump 37

maybe we need a drop out scoreboard to keep track of this back and forth action.

"Our boy can become President of the USA, and we can engineer it"

The business associate, Felix Sater, wrote a series of emails to Mr. Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, in which he boasted about his ties to Mr. Putin and predicted that building a Trump Tower in Moscow would be a political boon to Mr. Trump’s candidacy.

Note: This deal never went through, and this isn't a smoking gun that pins Trump directly to the wall. It does show more evidence of close relations between members of his inner circle and Russia though, and puts another hole in his claim that he never had business dealings in Russia.

Then there's this BBC interview with Trump, where Trump walked out of the interview once Felix Sater was brought up.

Felix Sater shows up again and again throughout the Russia story, to hear that he was critically involved in a business deal for Trump involving Russian interests is not a surprise. Trump's already perjured himself once to deny that his relationship with Sater was ongoing, and this was before the campaign, the attempted Trump Tower: Moscow etc. Sater, like Michael Cohen, is at heart of whatever this story ultimately is.

Credit where it's due: the wonderful research team at TPM had this nearly a month before WaPo brought it into the endzone: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/felix-sater-man-of-mystery

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has introduced a measure that would defund special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling six months after its passage. The amendment would also bar Mueller, who is also looking into whether Trump associates colluded with Russian operatives, from probing items that occurred before Trump declared his presidential bid in June 2015.

How quaint.
