Why would you hope for Trump?

I'm strongly opposed to Cruz I think Hillary will more than likely beat Trump and there are no realistic Republicans that could be thrown in that I would consider a better choice than Hillary

Not a fan of Hillary but to me she is the only choice that comes even close to what I find acceptable out of the choices this cycle

You know, I honestly hadn't thought about this. This is a good point and makes me slightly less worried about a Trump nod

I truly believe if this thing ends in a way that allows Trump to sell it as a stolen election he will come back stronger next time and in 4 years she will have much less to use to her advantage than she does currently and he could win.

I'm perhaps putting some unmerited faith in the people of this country to outright reject him but I believe he will lose unless Clinton screws it up

If Trump gets defeated this election I doubt he'd come back for round 2 in four (or eight) years.

Fair point, but even if he's outright swindled by the RNC a lot can happen in four years. People might forget about the Trump phenomenon by 2020.

I don't doubt he'd consider running again but it would be against an incumbent which is a gamble he'd probably not take. He'd also be 74. Supposing Hillary wins in 2016 and the economy starts picking up speed (neither are terribly unlikely) he wouldn't get nearly as much traction as he is right now. HRC is sort of the McDonald's of politics right now and she'd just pick up where Obama left off.
