Don't be so quick to be high and mighty about that. We killed, by any estimates millions of Indians in the course of settling the US. A great many of them--of course--by diseases we imported to the continent, but also a great many of them through violence than bears only a very slight resemblance to war. Even in the more recognized Indian Wars, women and children were pretty much fair game for soldiers. Our treatment of Indians is certainly a black mark in our history.

Again, you can't really call a lot of what we did "battles." Two examples off the top of my head are Wounded Knee and Sand Creek. Go read about them if you want to be disturbed. But you are correct, the Turk genocide vs. the Armenians was horrible. Was it worse than ours vs. the Indians? The Germans vs. the Jews (et al.)? Stalin vs. Russians and Ukrainians (et al.)? The Khmer Rouge? Rwanda? Darfur? Does it even make sense to ask the question?

I think you know that's not my point. In fact, my point is the exact opposite--everyone (pretty much) is guilty, so saying others are worse is a slippery slope (not that we shouldn't punish perpetrators either). Time is better spent figuring out how to prevent any more of these atrocities than figuring out who is better than the rest.
