Centrifuges make regular uranium into fissile uranium. Breaking centrifuges containing fissile uranium can hardly be considered a safe endeavor.
Certainly not 'safe', but the only person whos life could be directly at risk is the guy who repairs the centrifuges
I have to give credit where its due, the people who wrote stuxnet did a bang-up job at it, some great coders with extremely narrow and precise targeting.
It was very specifically tailored to keeping Iran away from weapons grade enrichment, not actually sabotaging their reactors
But thats the small picture, the big picture being that the entire project was clearly a dead end endeavour committed for political reasons, not really to be an efficient attack
You can only imagine how many millions of dollars and huge effort went into creating a virus that probably didn't do any more harm to Iranian nuclear program than one loony with 5 minutes and a hammer could have done
But it sure makes Israel think we're in their corner, with them on this fight! We won't bomb Iran, but we'll throw them this bone
I'm really not a fan of appeasement in any circumstances
