Of course it isn't the only tax, but it is - by far and away - the largest tax.

The bottom 50% has 1% of the wealth.

When you figure in the taxes they pay in sales tax, gas tax, and other taxes, most of them probably still pay a higher percentage in taxes than Romney.

What a misleading statistic. You realize that the roughly 25-30% of the population that has a mortgage larger than their bank account + other assets counts for having "no wealth?" Or that a person with a minimum wage job but no debts has more "wealth" than 30% of the people in the country? Try finding a better metric and get back to me.
