You claimed that an atheists life is meaningless, which is objectively true. They can easily claim the point of life is to pursue happiness.

PixileDust, your definition of an atheist has got to be one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read.

Sure, but they're just making baseless and unsubstantiated claims, something that seems hypocritical coming from one who rejects religious thought for the very same reason.

An atheist's life has no meaning, that's just objectively true.

lol

This is single worst misconception of all time. And really shows a naive understanding of the history of philosophy.

With no objective "point of life" decreed from on high, we're free to make meaning for our lives. It's not an unsubstantiated claim if maximizing happiness is what we work towards and MAKE the point of our lives.

exactly. The concept of meaning is what we define it to be.

example: Christians may think Nikolas Tesla went to Hell because he never got "saved" but he defined the meaning of his life by the benefits that his inventions would bring to all future humans. According to his value system, his afterlife was not as important as the effect of his inventions.

Therefore, Atheists are fully capable of choosing to define meaning in a way that makes their lives meaningful.
Just as Christians are free to define meaning in a way that makes the lives of all non-Christians appear meaningless.

I would define meaning in the sense of our existence as something that isn't a waste of time. You can try to argue until your mouth aches, but after life is gone there will be nothing left, by definition of YOUR belief. You may have had some great orgasm experiences, or caught a killer buzz that night with your bros, or felt an awesome sense of egoism after you slam dunked an ignorant Christian by asking some question about lifting a rock, but ultimately after life ends, so will any "meaning" you might have defined for yourself.

God is intrinsic to all believers, that's why God agrees with all believers even when the believers don't agree with each other.

That is why believers use the word "reject" when describing atheism, because they are being rejected (not an actual third party god).

My life is no more pointless than the next persons. I have children, I have dreams, I believe in right and wrong. I don't need to be intimidated by an eternal pit of fire to be moral in character.

It is funny when religious people act morally superior than everybody else when pride is the greatest sin....

At least the born-again crowd walks the walk.

Clarify the phrase "after life is gone" for me.

Are you talking about the end of all life in the universe or just the death of an individual?

So now you are arguing that your faith in a deity is subjectively better?

I don't agree that an Atheist's life is meaningless, but you do realize that some Athiest have also made their fair share of misconceptions regarding religion. I, as a Christian, do not think I'm am a better person simply become I am Christian, so I appreciate it when Athiest return the favor.

After there is no more life. The universe has existed long before the advent of life, and will continue to exist long after.
