Their minds are not normal. Yes, there is help available, but do you assume someone with a mental handicap is going to know how to get help? Or even if they need help. In their mind, being homeless might be "normal"

I think you are making the mistake of treating them like ignorant children when the fact is they know damn well they are homeless and what they did to get there.
