The religion titled "Judaism" takes its name from a place. So it only makes sense. Jewish is just an adopted label for people who follow Moses. Then again, there are people who think Jew is a race, and they happen to be Jewish.
It would be interesting to know what Moses called himself, thats what a Jew should have called himself.

I myself have never used it in terms of "someone who comes from Juda" and I have really never heard anyone used it in that sense.
