Yea that's the tough question for Republicans. How many Mexicans and Muslism do you allow into the country so that gay marriage doesn't pass? How important is it compared to the terrorism and occupation theft that those two groups bring?

But in similar situations, where people very close to me have turned out gay, I was not a known giver of fucks.

This whole "carrying on the legacy" stuff is bullshit. I couldn't care less.

Has nothing to do with "white" - a white kid in redneck Alabama is going to have a tougher time than a black kid in LA.

i was pretty indifferent when one of my friends came out as being gay but i don't think i'd be as indifferent if it were my own son

part of the problem comes with coming from a family with a strong sense of culture/tradition which they brought over with them when we moved to canada

It's more of a culture issue.

Different cultural groups have different standards. While a culture may be unique to one ethnicity, ethnicity is not unique to one culture.

A white kid from a religious family in the American south might have a hard time, a white kid in Toronto might have it easier.

It differs for everyone, depends more on what they culturally accept. I know really liberal Asians (including the middle-east) who come from really liberal Asian families here. I have Asian friends who are gay and it's accepted.

Nah, homosexuality is not accepted in black communities at all. For women it is more permissible, but a gay man? Forget about it.
