Why didn't Europeans eventually settle Africa and become the majority population, as they did in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States? Could it be that the European colonizers didn't intend to permanently colonize and settle Africa, opting to just steal their resources instead?

Those were never white majority countries, as they were ruled by a white minority.

Not even close to as large as africa, and australia is only populated in coastal areas for the most part.
