... says the guy who made billions of dollars through a chain of events triggered by him obtaining an MBA from Harvard...

Though (no trolling, which is probably rare for me lately), he's right. People shouldn't be going to college unless they know specifically what career path they have in mind.

Those types of degrees are reliant more on your connections and networking, if you're going to sink money into a top school like Harvard you better make some friends while you're there!

Jewish folk also have the highest representation ratio in elite universities over any other demographic in the U.S.

I should say acceptance, w/e, I had an infograph on it, trying to find it

What does somebody being Jewish have to do with anything in this thread? Are you autistic or can you just not pay attention very well?

And a successful plumber will make as much as most college grads I think most people's objection to the profession isn't based on pay but rather based on class, the two not being connected.

Being a plumber is a good idea though considering how full of shit most people are and the diets of Americans these days, especially if one can get associated with a trade union.

I put in a toilet for my to-be mother-in-law a couple months back, was a blast.

Plumbers make six figures so he's sort of right. Much safer than going to university.

Bloomberg got to where he is today through his connections, like all MBAs, being Jewish is definitely part of that. In elite universities, like Harvard, being Jewish takes precedence over any other minority group, (Asians, Blacks, and Hispanics, even White), when considering admissions. Granted, they do have a higher average IQ than other groups, they blow Asians out of the water. This goes deeper though, you have to understand the history of Jewish discrimination in Universities and antisemitism, http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/anti-semitism/harvard.html

I would never consider being a plumber unless it was a right-to-work state.

Found it,

Just raw numbers, how many Jewish are there in elite schools per white person?

Not percentage, not per capita, just raw numbers.

And what does it have to do with plumbing? You seem to be having a separate conversation with yourself.

I bet you'll find that the Jewish population is a small minority comparatively despite your insinuation that elite schools are Jewish institutions.

Also, Jewish Harvard MBA's are the ones successful due to connections? What does ethnicity have to do with it?

Explain it to me, I have a pea-sized brain.

/e Easy find:

Jews would be in the section marked "other".

I would hope they are a small population, I would also hope that demographics of any university would be very close to actual population but it isn't like that in the real world. There is a fair amount of discrimination for elite colleges like that, different ethnic groups have varying standards needed to be accepted. Asians and Jews have a higher capacity for intelligence than other ethnic groups as well, considering that information, it should correlate that there would be a higher population in institutions of higher education. I think that is mostly true but with 65%+ of our society also being white, it would make sense to see a high representation of exceptional white folks and other groups.

Quote (http://www.dailyprincetonian.com/2009/10/23/24251)
Jewish students at Harvard, Brown, Columbia and Penn make up 25 percent of their respective undergraduate populations, and at Yale and Cornell, the number is 22 percent, according to data provided by Hillel, a leading international Jewish campus organization.

http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/statistics.html - I found this as well, it seems that Asians make up 20%~ of admissions as well, very interesting statistics overall. Very cleverly they do not distinguish the rest of the enrollment, it is assumed to be of the same group, i.e., white., that is disappointing.

Assuming all of this is true, it would be that about 30-35%~ are white in Harvard.
