what could i have done better on my current besides the lighting? also does anyone notice any topaz? i applied image > topaz > erase everything except the streamers in hopes to make them pop a bit more :(

border is kinda weird.. i never really like them. I think it doesn't really help your signature that all parts are about the same brightness: there are no light or dark parts so much.

Deff colors.. Its mono.

i see i'll try to add more light/dark depth in my next as soon as i decide to render another stock.

i thought the colors looked well mono QQ but i do agree with the effects. i guess it's back to the drawing board to think about how to achieve streamer like effects.

Different brush settings is the 1st step to good smudge. I go default.

i've tried playing around with the scatter and such with a variety of different brushes. i just can't seem to find anything worth while. how do you guys smudge? smudge all over with one setting then do highlights and such with another?

edit:: also about boarders? what style normally compliments most tags? thick, thin, top/bottom only? i never really payed much attention to boarders. i just threw them on once i was done. i always tried to pay more attention to the piece itself rather then what goes around it.

qq while i was gone 2 mods pmed saying my sig was in violation of jsp rules. that blows. it seems they only pm me when i post in here though lol. anyways i am going to take all your advice and see what i can do with my next tag.
