ive been trying for a few days but i cant find a fix

when i draw with my tablet in ps cs5 i have 100% hard brush with opacity to pen pressure and size to pen pressure

if i let my hand up and try to fill in an area next to an already shaded area the brush goes over the already shaded area and makes it doubly dark

as you can guess, that makes it look atrocious ...

can someone tell me if there are some brush settings or something i should be using to make digipaintings?

use lower opacity?

also in your bamboo settings, you can set it as " hard or soft " theres a scroll bar for it, i believe that is your problem try switching it

i messed with the firm and soft thing in tablet settings (wacom bamboo) but that didnt solve the problem

and im not sure would lower opacity fix it? i guess i could just go over the wanted dark areas again to make them dark instead of using 100% opaque on opacity to pen pressure

Thats perfectly normal lol. Even if your brush is set to 100% opacity you still control it with pen pressure. You have to push hard to get 100% or trurn opacity jitter off :)

nooooooooo i meant

when i am drawing lets say there is a darkly shaded area one place (but not quite black) and adjacent to that there is a very lightly shaded area.. well when i am shading them i accidentally go over one of the areas while shading the other and it makes the area i already shaded like way darker than i wanted it to be ( the spot that i accidentally colored when shading )

this is what i mean

is there some way to make this stop, aside from using 100% opaque colors, like i want it to be like light to dark based on pen pressure so this doesnt happen because with opacity to pen pressure they overlap and impose upon each other

oh yay i found how to do it myself, after explaining it better, i realized what i needed to change and after some looking found in the brush settings color settings and put foreground/background color jitter to pen pressure

now i can overlap colors without them adding to eachother lol
