Hi guys and girls,

conserning most survivability of hardcore barb,
what do u think is more interesting for him to have 1000 more life?
or the 35 dr and max block that u can have with storm,

because dr and block is basically relevant vs physical dmg, but as far as i can see the days of 109 when defence didnt work in pvp for example and dr was more actual. Today are the days of casters. And consider someone using tppk. This is still not phys dmg.

What do u thinkg what have more benefit for survivability?

Considering Russbarb wasnt also wearing a shield as far as i know. My sureness of having max block and dr undergo so doubt. But then again i think in the terms of phys pvp of 109. Or even maybe bvb 109. But hc pvm is something different i suppose.

tppk works only with summons that use projectile

anyway i prefer dr + block

i also think or prefer dr and block,

btw whats projectile?

And, another thing here, lets say i want to put some points in fury and use it,
for lets say now 2 x Honors on low level and later on silence and cta for example,
to have res and some skills for bo also, on a swap,
i guess the shaft is the only solution to have some dr without a shield?

Why not make an exclusive slot for buffing warcries? You can buy +3 warcries weapons from vendors early on in the game. Those are both cheaper and more effective.

Spike Thorn; Vampiregaze: 15-20%dr
String of Ears; Verdungo's; CoA: 10-15%dr
Leviathan: 15-25%dr
Shako, Crainte Vomir: 10%dr

and a bunch of others, also +20%dr as a partial IK set bonus. If block and %dr are useful for you depends on your stats, life and, most of all, what you expect the char to do. I'd suggest you try around and see what suits you most, as they ask for different playing styles. With an offensive dual wield you might want to use crowd control spells like howl, leap and warcry.

well,
i guess i grew up to the point that i know this game pretty much, or atleaast i think so, and also to some point grew a littlebit out of how its named, maximalism of a joung,

so instead of using 2 x 3 bo weaps that u can easily shop in act 5, id prefer silence and cta because,
with those two bo sticks u cant deal any dmg and i have just a view lvls more bo,
imho i have more fun with just a view lvl less bo, which doest matter so much, and pretty good res that i can get from silence and also pretty good dmg that they give,
cta is pretty decent meele weapon u got nearly 300 ed and 40 ias, what else do u want? and silence 200 and some ias is also not that bad actually if u take in account res and skills and fhr,

this way i dont have to go to stash to swap out storm for some beast or doom to use with botd, and also dont have this unusefull swap that i can only use for bo, and nothing else,
but i can just push w and go frenzy and bo at same time, nice isnt it

and about other things, well i have just tought already about gaze for example because it also has a dual leech, i remember in 109 it was the only choice
also have i tought about coa wich is pretty nice, actually very nice,
But still if u compare coa (and gaze and shako and other helms) to arreat, overall i think areat wins, even now im thinking like, hmm coa sounds actually soo good, very good dr that is needed and res, and sockets what else do u need, but still, look arreat is cheap and somebody gave it to me already, and coa just try to get it, i guess i wish u luck. So still arreat i think is better.

Then u speak about string and levi,
While they might be interesting, and verdungo is hands down best baba belt,
im thinking here about this, i want to wear tg belt on him to be pretty much kinda more better resistive to souls, and im thinking about getting a second raven for him to have kida better resistance against cold dmg, and also want to get a mara and gonna wear it because of res and skillss for bo, i made this baba for one of the main thins is for giving bo,

So as u see helm and belt are already excluded, only left armor, and levi while gives some str which is nice has lower dr, i guess shaft stays the only vital thing to use, it has pretty high dr, and some life to,
I like pretty much Lionheart, even i like it right now even more then enigma, because i dont think i will teleport right away, and need somee res to, so if u actually count the stats that Lionheart gives its 70 stats, thats nearly the same that enigma gives on 90plus lvl. And it also gives 30 res whish is great, maybe after i get mara ill need it a bit less but still, i cannot emagine me playing on hc without max res, what more does it gives some ed, and was there some life? dont remember,


so the point actually is, to build some kind of a hybride baba,
as u can see here i pretty like to experiment with some hybrides now,

with storm shield equipped lionheart is pretty decent, same as cta as a meele weapon, the thing is this dmg from a cta will be more then enough for monsters, and cta is 4 bo actoally 3 plus 1 all skills and silence is 2 so its basically the same bo that u get from bo sticks,
this is the same as 7k hammer dmg on my vanquisher, its enough and fun cuz he kills ut smoters in duel to ^^
but is i switch to tha cta silence bo frenzy swap the dr is gone, so i guess ill still have to get shaft to wear
