Ultimate MF / GF / Keyfinder Vita Light Sorc by AnagrA

This guide is made most for those who are not poor & want to make a better MF sorc, or to upgrade an allready made MF Vita Light sorc!
Also for those who are into D2 from some time and know some basics!

There are few things that make this guide unique, where are these "wierd" choices, I explained why I made those choices!

Feel free to comment, add sugestions, but please after reading all descriptions !!!

Lets start setup our Soso

What we search for:
We must underline what performances we need!

- 300+ MF ( mine has 500+ with this setup )
- 500+ GF ( in around 10-15 Runs u are full with Gold! )
- 20+ K Lightning Skill Damage
- Keep Her Alive / Safety !
- Max Block & 5 Fps Block Rate while Teleporting long Distances
- Decent Fcr

List of Terms:

- BR: Brake Point
- CtB: Chance to Block
- FCR: Fast cast Rate
- FBR: Fast Block Rate
- FHR: Fast Hit Recovery
- Fps: Frames / Second
- FR: Fire Res
- GF: Gold Find
- DR: Damage Reduce
- LL: Life Leech
- LR: Light Res
- MF: Magic Find

Stats:
After listing equipment choises I made a note about str/dex requirements!

- Str: Enough to use Equip
- Dex: nothing
- Vita: all the Rest !!!
- Ene: nothing

Skills:

- Lightning Tree Synergies: Charged Bolt 20 / Lightning 20 / Chain 20 / Nova 20 ( Nova is the last skill u invest in! )

- Lightning Mastery 20

- Energy Shield: Nothing

- Thunder Storm: 1 ( is up to u if u want to spend here / don forget +2 tree prereq. )

- Warmth: 1 ( a must > regen mana )

- Frozen Armor: 1 ( a must > boost your defence! )

Before reviewing equipement we underline what we do:

- FIGHT > u kill monsters for items / this way u MF / duhhh...
- TRAVEL to next fight locatin > Very Important to Underline! We will see why next!

Equipment:

- Shako Topazed > 75 Mf > Skills / Life / Mana / DR / Stats

- Chains of Honor ( Dusk Shroud Must! ) > 30 Mf / Skills / Resists / DR

- Chance Guards > XX Mf / 200 GF

- Arachnid Belt > keeps u with decent Fcr / +1 Skills / Mana

- War Travelers / but best are: Rare boots with MF / GF / Resists / Fhr / Dex if u get!
( I use with 23 MF / 80 GF / LR / FR < gosu )

- Magic Amulet: +3 Light / Mf or GF > or Rare / Craft +2 Light / Fcr / Mf + adds
( I use +3 Light Skills / +75 GF )

- Ring 1: A Fcr Ring with Stats like Str/Dex to help u use Equip / added Mf nice if u get
or Nagel 30 Mf if u have covered your Str / Dex Needs

- Ring 2: Nagel 30 Mf
or Dwarf Star ( Life / Absorb / 100 GF ) for Travi if u feel have enough MF
or Natures Peace If u go for key at Nihlatak > Bans Corpse Explosion ( !!! ) is a must!

Weapon & Shield for Fight:

- Oculus Isted > 80 Mf / +3 Skills / 30 FCR / Life / Mana / Resists

- Lidless Shield Isted > +1 Skills / 20 FCR / Mana or Splendor Shield RW ( Mf & GF / +1 Skills / Fcr also )

on Swich we have 2 choices:

1) First choice ( mine ) Equipment for Traveling:

- Wizzy > 50 Fcr / Mana / 75 All Resistences > Awsome
+ jool -15 Req + adds like stats depending on shield or Hel

- Moser's Luna > 30 FBR / 25 CtB / 25 All Res / 2 Sox > this is where some people will argue with me!
( Moser's Luna = Upped Mosers / will need 100 Str if no -Req used )
+ Shael ( is a must for 5 Fps BR )
+ Ko ( for Dex ) or Hel or a nice jool with -15 Req / 7 Fhr ...

( ! ) why Upped Mosers ?
* u will be able to reach easily Max Block: Luna 40 CtB Base + 25 = 65 Chance to Block !!! Awsome !
+ Dex from Torch / Ani ( / Ring maybe ) u will reach 75 Chance ( Max! )
+ Shael helps u to reach 5 Fps Block Rate Brake Point so u will not be stuck in a monster pack while tele & hited
( u may find this overated but trust me is useful )

* with this Travel Setup u will have 75+25=100 All Res from this 2 items ( dont forget Resists from the rest of Equip )

* 3 Dex = 1 Chance to Block ( dont forget this ) I used 7/9/9 Jools in Wizzy ans second Moser's socket ( were cheap that time )

* If u look better will see that we miss FHR > well I just didn't felt I need'it because this shield setup with Max Block & Block Rate Always saved my ass!
When u fight u always keep distance from monsters as u are "ranged" so u dont need Fhr & the rest safety gear from switch!

2) Second Choice: Equipment for Buff: > this is how generaly people are going / but useles in my view!

- Call to Arms > as better u can x / 6 / x

- Lidless or Splendor for +1 Skills > better BO

Notes for Strenght & Dexterity:

- If u use Chains Of Honor in Dusk Shroud will need a total strenght of 77 ( ! )
so: Base + Torch + Ani + Shako + Ring1 + add some strenght points if need!

- Dont Forget CoH adds 20 Str
so if u will use Upped Mosers u will need 100 Str ( if no -Req Jool or Hel )
so u already have folowin Str: 77 + 20 = 97 > u need more 3 Str Points

- If U use Wizzy > well this is a problem > u will need 75 Dexterity ( if no -Req )
so try to socket with some jool with -15 Req + adds ( Fhr / Defence / Dex )
also u can use Second Socket from Mosers with some Dex Booster / Jool / Ko Rune
I repeat: * 3 Dex = 1 Chance to Block ( so anyway dex = helpful )

Mercenary ( Holy Freeze Aura ):
( Recruting: Nightmare / Act 2 / Offensive )

- Eth Infinity or CA or CV Ofc > crap does the job!

- ( Eth ) Vampire Gaze +8 Life Leech > best DR u can get
+ 15 Ias Jool ( if u can 15/15 Res nice )

- Eth Glitch Chains of Honor > nice Res / DR / LL / MF / Damage
or
- Eth Glitch Treachery RW
( Fhr / 40 IaS / Fade say bye bye to Curses + adds DR & Resists / Venom / GF )

Inventory:

- Torch + Ani + Gheed > best u can get / afford / want to invest

- 7 Mf SCs + Adds like Def / Resists or plain ( as many as u feel confortable with the space left for items )

Belt Setup ( who would think this is important ):

Column 1 > Life Pots ( to heal Merc & Yourself if Needed )
Column 2 > Full Regen Pots > Heal Yourself / Panic
Column 3 > Mana or Full Regen Pots or Poison Antidotes for u or Merc ! Useful !
Column 4 > Town Portal Scrolls !!! ( Dont waste space in Inventory with Book !!! )

For Identify use: Cain !!!

Some Strategy:

- Generaly Tele Around All Time to keep your Merc out of trouble!
as he is U infact! without him u suck! also u keep yourself out of trouble!

- In Chaos u realy need to tele around for above reasons!

- Rarely u will find some retard boss with unbrakable imunity... merc will finish'him!

- Generaly use Lightning Skill

- For Crowd Control: Chain Lightning ( less damage / drains your mana )

* dont forget lightning stuns badly your foes
* if u keep all time your merc around Holy Freeze is like a Fortress for u!

Anytime this can be improved feel free to customise!

This is my MF Sorc Setup / I love her / U will love her

You did not list the point you need in teleport and its prereqs.

Otherwise good guide.

what does your sorc do in term off dmg/life/resi etc, pictures with stat/ger also would be nice

My Soso:

Fight Setup With Occu / Lidless:
> 23 K Lightning
> 9 K Chain Lightning
> Resists above 50%
> 1300+ Life
> 3300+ Defence
> 18 DR

Travel Setup With Wizzy / Moser's Luna:
> 7 K Chain Lightning ( use only for stun if need )
> All Resists 75% ( with some stacking )
> 1200+ Life
> 3000+ Defence
> Max Block
> 5 Fps Block Rate
> 18 DR
> 14 Fhr ( suck but NN )

( I have some nice SCs with 5@, Def,... so I invested little Fg in her)
She's doing just fine

If u respect that small strategy, u will not have problems...
With stacked Resists if u meet some Conviction Boss, u can survive'it...
The secret is to keep as much distance u can, lot of times I kill monsters out of my screen,
I use Chain to kill monsters behind a corner for ex, or to lower their life, then tele & cast final Light...

The main concept behind this build is around this two facts:
1) When u fight u can choose your position ( so u dont need to be so "tank" )
2) When u travel u dont know where u land in terms of monsterpacks not place !

One thing I could recomand also is on Ring1 or rare Amu: Psn Time Reduce...
( when u go Nihla for ex. there are those annoying poisoners... )

Hardest places & monsters u face are:
In the way to Baal, Nihla, Meph: Souls ( stun, drain mana ), Dolls ( retard explosion ),
those Frenzy guys in the way to Baal are ugly too...

When u just tele in some place, u check "population" to see who u face, then u decide fast the way u tele!
This is again a strategy fact!

This build seems alright, but wha bout max block..you must die alot in hell...I'd go with an ist'd ss rather than lidless and go with max block.
