Windows Vista was released a couple of days ago, some of you might be upgrading. So, you may realise that Diablo 2 will not run by default. Here's how to get around this.

1.) Go into c:\program files\diablo II\ or wherever you have the game installed.

2.) Right click on "game.exe" and go to properties.

3.) Click on "Compatibility" tab

4.) Place a check in the box that says "Disable Desktop Composition"

5.) Click Apply. Click Ok.

6.) Run the game! It should load and play normally once this option is checked.

Vista hasn't shipped yet. Are you talking about the RC1 and RC2? They have been out for a while now.

No, I'm talking about the full, retail version. Ultimate edition. Although, this fix should work for either of the RCs as well.

What are you talking about? Please don't appologize unless you have something to appologize for. In this case, being wrong doesn't count. Whoreing for post count when you are locked sucks too. Please up your post count in a thread you might be able to contribute valuable information to.

I have full sound support. Maybe you don't understand how to install a driver? I can help you with that.

As for how I like it, it's great. I have no issues with it, what so ever. It handles everything I can throw at it, and it runs fast. If you have a system that you built in the last few months, and a decent video card, you'll love it. If you have a lesser system, you'll probably have to turn off compositing anyway.

Seeing as the full retail version isn't out, and RC1 and RC2 both are Vista Ultimate testing editions I think you are full of shit. The RC's both show Vista Ultimate tagging like that.
