Why Use Regen Gear?

I was going to reply in this topic: http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=4126913&f=272 but +regen is overlooked enough by beginners that it probably warrants its own thread. Swapping out regen gear becomes a habit for veteran LS players. Why? Read on, gentle ladder slasher.

Let's take a look at Ragnarok's guide for LS regen stats:




A simple scenario to demonstrate the value of regen equipment


Using ToMyLife's character as an example, at level 28, he regens 6 life a tick.
If you swap in 3 x +3 life regen items, life regen is increased to +15 life a tick.
This means ToMyLife is now regenerating 250% faster.

So What?
Let's say ToMyLife starts resting when his life hits 1000 hp.
2428 - 1000 = 1428 hp.
Normally, this will take 1428/6 = 238 seconds, or 4 minutes to regen to full life (No wonder it feels like forever )
With your regen gear, you reduce resting time down to:
1428/15 = 95 seconds, or just 1.5 minutes!

Now, let's say you rest 100 times in one session of LS. Would you want to waste almost 7 hours resting (100 x 4 minutes) or spend a measley 10fg on regen gear and bring downtime to a much more reasonable 2 and a half hours?

In other words, whether it is for a new character or when upgrading eq, you should always be looking at buying/upgrading regen gear too.

Price

Thankfully, regen gear is (currently) cheap as chips , especially +3 life and under regen equipment which can be found on the MP for 1-2 fg apiece. Above +5 life regen it begins to get pricey but it is always a worthwhile investment when you consider the incredible amount of time that you will save. (Also, regen gear is very easy to resell).

You wait forever ri get full life again. 2428 life I have at 28 and I go to fight the first guy and cant even kill him and ive got to run =\

with life reg you won´t fix his problem D

yea but ya dont have to wait as long for it to regen, so ur onto the next monster faster

but if you can't beat them because your gear is all regen then you have a problem.
No matter how fast your regen time is if you can't beat the monstars you don't get any exp.

Just switch the gear.

i dont even use my regen gear anymore, makes the game go "too fast" and u cant do much else when u regen in less than 30 seconds, i like my 2+ mins to regen allows me time to do other things

yep same here~

got with my rogue lvl 21 1200 life

and only 1 thing i normally use got +1 life regen

i'm playing css
when i die i come back to desktop
click 10 times till enemy is dead and open css again
goes easy

2 sets of gear - one to fight with, which adds 800 life, one to regen, for hi end 21 life per sec to a low of 9 life per sec,

as i swap one item at a time as i heal ....

takes a little extra click-time but saves on regen time

always looking for better regen items lol
