The previous guide for the magician can be found HERE

The goal remains the same. Short, concise and fundamentally sound.

How do you build your guardian?
What stats on items do you look out for?
Do you add any extra Vitality, Intelligence, Dexterity, Strength?
Hybrid? Melee? Cata healer?

Share your knowledge and expertise!

i liek to cast with my guardian ;)

well to the basics

id say guardian is the "catacomb" char - it uses heavy armors, can tank and heal at the same time.

there are basically

3 types of guardians

1. pure heal = hm at weapon /hm armor /hm charm + ee charm -- pure int stats
2.tank /heal= hm weapons+dex or int+dex /ee armor / charm int +dex charm or hm/dex / + heal charm w ee - add some vita/dex + int stats
3.normal melee with ee weapons /str/dex armor charm - add str dex stats

all intel.

attain 14-20% mana syphon from lvl 15 +

I like to use heavy weapons up to 15, then I go pure HM + manasyphon gear. ( max mana is a plus especially at any level, highly recommend manasyphon and as much HM you can get)

Mana syphon works the best if you are the primary tank and the rest are mid to back.

Try to get ee plates or chains if you can't afford HM+ mana syphon on them.. Also dex + manasyphon is a great combo to take damage as primary tank..

useless class imo^^

i played him as imba tank:

stating up to 70-80 int, then stating dex and equipping to 100-120 dex and wearing ee plate :)

additional int and hm on equip wouldnt hurt ofc

Full Healer

I run max mana gear (club, armor, main slot charm) up to around level 10-15, statting all points into intelligence.

From 15-71, I try to focus on gear which will give me 100+ intel and as much heal mastery as I can find.

Always run your EE heal charm from the accessory slot with a Heal Mastery or Max Mana charm in the main.

Tanker Healer

I've found two effective tanker builds for Guardian

1. 100 Vitality, Rest in int.

2. 100 Dexterity, Rest in int.

Gear for each of these builds would be HM/Dex/Vit Clubs-- EE/Dex/Vit Plate or Chain Mails -- HM/Dex/Vit Main slot charms

Both builds are very effective tanker builds in catacombs, especially if you can find a decent EE Plate Mail.

I've never run a Melee or Melee Hybrid Guardian...so I'm not so sure I can help with those :)

Hope my little bit of info helps ofc :D

All out int and sit in mid so you take some dmg but not a majority since u will receive crit shots because of lack of dext.

Gear

Hm armor
Hm weapon
Hm heal charm
EE heal charm in accesorry

Heal from the acc slot since your mana cost is reduced you get a good benefit from the HM heal charm in main slot

I've found that doing this with decent gear you can go forever with a decent group because you almost always lvl before you run out of mana

I usually go for the cata healer.
All stats into intel. And I use melee gear up to lvl 25/30 depending on the group. If a good group, then no need to do too much dmg. But if group sux, you can end up beeing the main healer and the main dmger o.O
